Michael Pryor, CPA started his career in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After graduating from Idaho State University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and a Master's of Business Administration he was hired in 2004 by Cooper Norman, the largest privately held CPA firm in the state of Idaho. This experience allowed him to gain a broad breadth of experience in many industries including manufacturing, wholesale, medical professionals, professional services, software, government contracting, construction, development, farming, and oil and gas rat-hole drilling.

Michael came to Crisafi, Pryor & Farquhar in 2013 and became a partner in 2016. His experience with small business and tax planning has allowed him to coordinate with his clients throughout his career to help them find ways to plan for tax consequences of their success as well as helping them make the best possible business decisions while getting there. Michael believes that with effective planning his clients can stay informed of current tax consequences of their personal and business transactions, and obtain the knowledge that will give them power to make good informed decisions. Knowledge is power.

Michael spends a large part of his personal time doing volunteer work. He regularly volunteers for his church, and as an avid scouter he currently serves on the Scout Committee for his local troop. He has been involved with various other charities throughout his career. These charities include serving as Treasurer for the Idaho Falls Salvation Army for 3 years, and as Chairman of the Board for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Judicial District VII for 7 years.

Michael enjoys spending free time with his family and watching his step-son play baseball, and basketball. He loves riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle as often as possible and tries to go on as many fun riding trips with his wife as schedules allow.

John C. Farquhar

John Farquhar has over 40 years of experience in a wide variety of accounting and finance. He started out with ten years at Price Waterhouse in the Los Angeles office becoming an audit manager. He ended his ten years at Price Waterhouse in litigation support for a large client in San Francisco.

John was a partner with Crisafi Pryor Farquhar for 25 years and has a broad client base. Closely held family businesses, commercial and residential real estate, and construction clients occupy the majority of his time. He performs compiled and reviewed financial statements for his clients satisfying bank and bonding company requirements.

John holds a B.S. in accounting/finance from California State College Long Beach and passed the CPA exam in 1973. He passed the Certified Financial Planning exam in 1988. John is a past president of the Burlingame Rotary.

John coached youth athletics for years with his two sons in baseball, soccer and roller hockey. He currently enjoys playing golf and traveling.

Charles "Chris" Jefferson, CPA

Charles “Chris” Jefferson, CPA has been providing accounting services to clients in San Mateo and the Peninsula for over 40 years, 35 of them as a sole proprietor. He has extensive experience in tax compliance, planning, and audit representation with an emphasis on individuals, estates and trusts. He also brings considerable expertise in preparing reports for trustees, including informal ones for amicable beneficiaries or specially formatted for court use in litigious situations. Chris works closely with attorneys, fiduciaries, asset managers and others to coordinate professional services for our clients for optimal results.

Chris was raised in Chico, California where he attended Chico State University. His father was a professor and head of the accounting department there. After taking general studies in Chico he moved to San Francisco where he attended Golden Gate University to take accounting, economics, business and related courses, then passed the CPA exam after attaining the equivalent of a bachelor’s in accounting. After gaining 25 years of experience, 20 of it as a sole proprietor, he acquired the practice of Stanley Gross to form Jefferson & Gross, CPAs. Stanley, very well known for his experience and his network of colleagues, stayed on for about 7 years, passing his knowledge and connections to Chris. Having built on that, Chris now looks forward to remaining with C.P.F. for several years as needed until the clients and colleagues who have worked with him in the past have the same confidence working with C.P.F.

Chris still lives in San Francisco where he enjoys gardening, travel, sports, reading, chess, and city events.

Her 30 year background includes taxes, accounting, auditing, Sarbanes-Oxley, HR, and consulting in public accounting as well as working on the private sector.

Wendy enjoys watching soccer with her husband of 30 years & three grown kids. She also enjoys cooking, investing in real estate, and hiking. Wendy holds a B.S. in Accounting from University of Houston and has been a CPA since 1987.
